The Johnson County Sheriff’s office conducted a traffic safety checkpoint on KY 201 on the afternoon of September 20, 2017.
At approximately 1pm Deputies Byron Fairchild and Jesse Mullins approached a vehicle driven by Rebecca R. Clark of Louisa, Ky. She was driving a 2004 black Hyundai.
Upon first contact the deputies reported Clark to be highly under the influence of Methamphetamine behind the wheel.
Standardized field sobriety tests were performed and multiple needle marks were found on Clark’s arms and she was then arrested. Deputy Fairchild reported that consent to search the vehicle was given by Clark and that he asked her several times if there were ANY needles inside the car in fear of being stuck.
Rebecca Clark advised the deputies there were no needles.
Upon searching the vehicle a used hypodermic needle with the cap gone was found inside a compartment of the vehicle facing outward that could have easily struck the deputies hands if they had not looked first.
Also inside the vehicle other needles were found along with a Hollowed out light bulb made into a meth pipe. The case is currently under investigation by Deputy Byron Fairchild.
Rebecca R. Clark 38 Years old of Louisa was arrested and charged with:
* Driving Under the influence 1st offense
* Wanton Endangerment (Police Officer) 2nd degree
* Menacing
* Failure to wear seat belts
* Failure to produce insurance card
* Failure of owner to maintain required insurance
* Possession of Drug paraphernalia
* No registration receipt
