With no one matching all the numbers drawn Wednesday evening, the Powerball lottery jackpot is soaring to an estimated $435 million for the next scheduled drawing Saturday night.
The Saturday jackpot would be the eighth-largest grand prize ever offered in the multi-state lottery game, which is played in most states, including Kentucky and Indiana, said Kentucky Lottery spokeswoman Sara Westerman.
The record Powerball payout was $1.58 billion in January 2016.
The one-time cash option for Saturday night is expected to be $273.1 million. The exact payouts are set right before the late evening drawing and depend on ticket sales across the country.
The jackpot Wednesday evening was $375 million, with a onetime cash option of $235 million.
The six numbers drawn were 5, 21, 57, 66 and 69, with the red Powerball, 13.
Single play tickets cost $2.
