Lexington, Ky. –– Lawrence Co. Junior third baseman Eli Fletcher landed on the Kentucky High School coaches association second team All-State on Monday.

Fletcher led the Bulldogs with .469 batting average, totaling 46 hits, had 19 doubles, smacked 2 home runs, drove in 32 runs and crossed the plate 40 times.

Fletcher was also named 58th District player of the year and landed on the 15th Region All-Tournament team as well.

Lawrence Co. Head Coach Travis Feltner

COACH’S COMMENTS

“ Eli took full advantage of what we attempt to offer our kids in our program. Following last season- he immediately got to work. He came all fall during 6:00am workouts to improve his game/craft while playing football. Lived in the cages all winter. Made some great adjustments to his swing mechanics as well as his approach.”

“ Getting named to the East/West all star team for the 2nd consecutive year and now being named 2nd team all state is a great by-product of his labor.”

“ Very proud of the year he had, but even more importantly than baseball, I feel like Eli really grew up and matured and became a great teammate and leader.”
