FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 14, 2017) – The Governor recently signed into law a measure to promote economic development in Eastern Kentucky. House Bill 156, sponsored by Rep. Chris Fugate, R-Chavies, will create the Kentucky Mountain Regional Recreation Authority (KMRRA) to stimulate outdoor recreation and tourism development.
As Eastern Kentucky works to diversify its economic portfolio, the KMRRA will help the region to capitalize on tourism opportunities already available. House Bill 156 is one of many bills passed during the 2017 Regular Session aimed at stimulating Eastern Kentucky’s economy.
The measure is Rep. Fugate’s first piece of legislation to be signed into law.
