Approximately 20 students came to the office with a rash
LOUISA, Ky. — Lawrence Co. Schools Chief Dr. Rob Fletcher issued a statement concerning what is sure to be a “hot” topic around the county tonight.
Here is what he released today:
“…Today at Louisa East, we had approximately 20 students that came to the office with a rash. Students began coming to the office around lunch time, and the “event” lasted for about 1 1/2 hours. Thankfully, no more students were involved after that 1 1/2 hour window.
We had our school health nurses to check each student, and each parent was contacted to pick up their child. As an extra measure, additional custodial staff will work tonight to do the normal cleaning process, but also to take additional measures to sanitize each classroom. As a precaution, our custodial staff will be replacing air filters.”
Fletcher said he sent the release because wanted the public to know the facts and be transparent on all such issues that effect students or staff.
