KENTUCKY STATE POLICE CONDUCT INVESTIGATION INTO LETCHER COUNTY MURDER OF WOMAN WHOSE BODY WAS FOUND ALONG SAME ROAD AREA AS HER MURDERED DAUGHTER
A THIRD WOMAN WAS ALSO MURDERED ALONG THE SAME ROAD BEFORE THE MOTHER AND DAUGHTER AT THE END OF 2021
The Letcher County Coroner’s Office pronounced Angela Roberts deceased on scene.
According to an information release, on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at approximately 7:52 P.M., Kentucky State Police, Post 13, in Hazard, in Perry County, KY., received a 911 call in reference to a female being located, unresponsive, near a cemetery on Dinah Blair Hollow Road, off KY. 931 South, at Cowan, located in the Whitesburg community of Letcher County.
KSP Post 13 Troopers, along with medical personnel responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Angela Roberts, 59, of Bald Mountain Road, of Whitesburg was located, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Detectives with KSP Post 13 responded to the scene and launched an investigation. The Letcher County Coroner’s Office also responded and pronounced Angela Roberts deceased on scene.
Angela Roberts’ body was taken to the Medical Examiner Office in Frankfort, KY., pending an autopsy. This case remains under investigation by KSP Post 13 Detective Anthony Trotter.
PATRICIA MAE “TRISH” ROBERTS DEATHERIDGE, 40, OF WHITESBURG, KY., WAS MURDERED BY GUNFIRE ON AUGUST 1, 2023 ALONG THE SAME ROAD AREA AND CLOSEBY TO WHERE HER NOW MURDERED MOTHER’S BODY WAS FOUND ON THURSDAY, MARCH 7, 2024.
