WHAT A PLETHORA OF ACTIVITIES FOR ONE WEEKEND IN LOUISA…DON’T FORGET TO FALL BACK
Right now the weekly show on WSAZ ‘FIRED UP FRIDAY’ is going on at Lawrence County High School and our locals are not disappointing! And looks what else is happening this weekend.
The regionally renowned Haunted House now called the FALLSBURG FEARPLEX is open and ready for Halloween celebration all weekend.
Of course there is the football game tonight at Luke Varney as the 8-1 Dawgs face county line opponent Boyd Co. (6-3).
Then tomorrow (SATURDAY) we have Youth football, Marshall football, and all this on the eve of Halloween when all the haunting little spirits will be visiting homes and businesses to collect a treat or risk a trick. Hundreds of these spooks descend upon Louisa and the surrounding area each year as Halloween is a favorite time of year in area towns.
Fallsburg is also the site for Trick or Treaters with Fallsburg ‘s Creekside Cabins and RV from 5-7,
And during the weekend ‘in person voting’ is ongoing from 10-6 on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for convenience, county clerk Chris Jobe said. Election Day is next Tuesday, Nov. 3.
How about the drone idea for Ky POWER to survey lines! Awesome!
Kentucky Power is using drone technology to inspect power lines, poles and other electrical equipment across our service area. These inspections help us identify potential problems, make repairs before equipment fails and reduce the risk of power outages. It’s another way we’re working to provide more reliable service while making the best use of resources.

How Drones Help
Our FAA-licensed drone pilot uses specialized technology to inspect electrical equipment from above, including areas that can be difficult to reach on foot. Drones allow us to get a closer look at equipment, assess its condition and identify maintenance needs without sending crews into potentially hazardous locations.

Drone technology allows us to:
- Safely access remote areas
- Quickly and efficiently inspect infrastructure
- Gather precise data to assess equipment condition
- Prioritize necessary maintenance and repairs

Finding Problems Before They Cause Outages
Preventing outages starts with identifying potential problems early. Drone inspections give our crews valuable information about the condition of electrical equipment so they can make informed decisions about where repairs and improvements are needed.
By finding and addressing issues before equipment fails, we can help reduce outages, improve reliability and manage maintenance costs.
