Closure scheduled near the old Hinkle Store from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 14, 2026) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 12 advises motorists that KY 1690 in Lawrence County will be closed Friday, Oct. 16, for a pipe replacement.

The closure will take place at mile point 2.2, near the old Hinkle Store, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Motorists will be able to access locations on either side of the work site, but no traffic will be able to pass through the closure. Drivers should use an alternate route during this time.

Motorists are reminded to use caution near the work zone and obey all posted signs and barricades.
