REBECCA JEAN RATLIFF, 44, OF HAGERHILL, KENTUCKY. TO SERVE A DECADE IN STATE PRISON

A Johnson County, Kentucky woman has been sentenced to decade in prison after being convicted on a somewhat unusual set of crimes
Rebecca Jean Ratliff, 44, of Hagerill, KY., has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after being convicted on two counts of Forgery, 2nd Degree in Johnson Circuit Court.
According to the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, Ratliff forged the signatures of two family members on deeds to their property and filed the deeds with the Johnson County Clerk’s Office, transferring the property into her own name. Authorities said Ratliff admitted to forging the signatures during the investigation.
In addition to the prison sentence, Ratliff was required to sign deeds returning the property to its rightful owners.
The case was investigated by Kentucky State Police Post 9-Pikeville Detective Matthew Smith.
