Lawrence County Head Coach Alan Short who is going into his 11th season at the helm of his alma mater is fired up for the season to begin with an experienced group who has a chance to be really good come playoff time.
The Bulldogs went 11-2 in 2025 and played for a region championship for the first time in a long time.
The Dawgs had their first scrimmage of the year when they hosted Russell and Johnson Central on Friday. The scrimmage only lasted about 45 minutes and was canceled because of continuous lightning in the area.

Lawrence County will travel to Prestonsburg this Friday for a scrimmage game against the Blackcats before opening the season at home on Friday August 21st versus Martin County.
