David Shannon, 61, of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 13, 2026 at his home.
David was born January 12, 1965 to the late Donald Lee and Linda (Abshire) Shannon. Dave was a devoted husband. He adored his children and grandchildren. He was a loving brother, uncle, and friend. If Dave loved you, he loved you forever. He was the dependable, steady rock of his family. He took care of everything for his family, doing it so well behind the scenes you almost didn’t know it was going on. His family called him “SuperDave”.
Dave was always smiling. His heart was full of joy. He was an avid softball player, and when he thought he was too old to continue playing he took up golf. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, and riding 4 wheelers. Dave was the biggest Wildcats fan. He never missed a game.
Dave was employed by Diversified Oil and Gas since 2020. He was a coal truck driver and in the oil and gas industry for over 20 years prior.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jared Thomas Hackler.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years Pamela Shannon; children Caleb Scott Hackler and Christopher Paul (Aimee) Greenwold; grandchildren Jackson Norman Greenwold, Tucker James Greenwold, Kensley Patricia Mapson, Kaliana Mae Lynn Fonner, and Layla Maree Hackler; siblings Donna Lynn Shannon (Keith) McNeil, Donald Lee (Vickie) Shannon, Lisa Ann Shannon (Tim) Hamrick, and Joseph Samuel (Carrie) Shannon; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Keith (Trina) Boyd, J.R. Scaggs, and Doug (Jenn) Ison.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Friday, July 17, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.
