The Tolsia High School track and field team successfully concluded its historic 2026 season at the WVSSAC Class A State Championships held at Laidley Field in Charleston, West Virginia.

The Rebels sent several highly anticipated relay teams—including both the boys’ and girls’ 4 x 100 and 4 x 400-meter relays, the boys’ 4 x 800 and 4 x 200-meter relays—and standout runner Peyton Rice in the 400-meter finals. The 4 x 200 won its state heat and medaled. The 4 x 400 and 4 x 800 both earned state medals as well.

The Rebels qualified for the state meet after solid performances earlier in May at the WVSSAC Class A Region 4 Championship hosted at Herbert Hoover High School.

Throughout the spring, Tolsia Track saw strong competitive efforts that led to many wins across regional and invitational meets.

 COACH’S COMMENTS

“Fortunately, this team will only get better. All these athletes will return next season.”
