The Tigers ( 22-13 ) scored a run in the top of the second inning and then added an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning on a delayed steal of home to go up 2-0.
Boedy Maynard led off the bottom of the seventh inning with the first hit of the game for the Bulldogs but was left stranded at first base for end the game. The only other base runners the Dawgs had were two walks drawn by Max Murriell and Braxton Davis.
Gray Derifield was the hard luck loser tossing all seven innings, allowed two earned runs, gave up seven hits, struck out seven and walked one Tiger.

COACH’S COMMENTS
“… Region semifinals is not where we wanted to end our year. But disappointments aside I’m proud of our guys and the fight they displayed down to our final out
I thought Gray was an absolute animal on the mound and gave us a great chance to win and advance. And once again we played extremely well defensively. It’s no secret we had our struggles offensively throughout a lot of the season. We had a lot of guys in lineup for the first time at this level and unfortunately that happens sometimes. But I will wear our offense. It’s my job to figure out what each group needs and clearly I didn’t provide that this year. That won’t happen again.”
“ Like to give one last public acknowledgment to our 3 seniors. Owen, Braxton, and Boedy.
