LAWRENCE CO., KY MAN ARRESTED AFTER WIFE’S VIDEO SHOWS HIM POINTING SHOTGUN AT MOTHER-IN-LAW, HER HOMES DURING METH-INDUCED PSYCHOSIS

A Lawrence County, Kentucky man has been arrested on several counts of wanton endangerment, after allegedly pointing a shotgun at two homes while in a drug-induced psychotic state.
Lawrence County Sheriff Office deputy Whyatt Laney, along with deputy James Ward, were called on Saturday evening, May 23, to the Left Fork of Little Blaine Creek. There, they were shown a video recorded by Alexis Hayes of her husband Scott Anthony Hayes, 26, of Louisa, KY., getting out of his truck with a shotgun, waving it at his wife’s home and exhibiting erratic movements. Three people were in the home at the time-his wife Alexis Hayes,, their daughter, and her husband’s sister. Scott Hayes later pointed the gun at his mother-in-law’s house and made an obscene gesture.
Alexis Hayes’ told police officers that her husband is a methamphetamine user and that she believed him appearing to be experiencing psychosis.
Scott Hayes was later found in his truck at the Louisa Sunoco gas station on KY. 2565, and after the deputies made contact with Scott Hayes, he was arrested on three counts of:
*WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE.
The shotgun Scott Hayes used in the incident, a loaded 12 gauge firearm, was found inside his truck.
Deputy Laney wrote in the arrest citation that Scott Hayes appeared to be experiencing drug-induced psychosis, and that Scott Hayes admitted to a history of drug abuse.
Scott Hayes was transported to and was booked and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, KY., in Johnson County; where he currently remains incarcerated as of Thursday afternoon, May 28.
