BULLDOGS START 58TH DISTRICT ACTION 4-0 AFTER SWEEPING PRESTONSBURG

Prestonsburg, Ky. — Lawrence Co. Baseball improved to 4-1 on the year after a 16-0 four inning victory over Prestonsburg on Wednesday at the Stonecrest Sportspark.

Braxton Davis pitched a four inning complete game to get the victory. Davis gave up two hits, struck out two and walked none. He also singled to help his cause. 

Gray Derifield had two hits, scored three runs and two RBI’s, Max Murriell doubled, drove in two runs and scored a run,

Brady Caudill singled drove in one and scored a twice, Grant Cochran singled and scored twice, Eli Caudill singled and scored two runs, Alex Meadows singled and scored two runs, Owen Pack singled and drove in three runs, Maddox Fletcher doubled and drove in two runs, Boedy Maynard, CJ Whitt and Braylen Stumbo scored a run each. 

Lawrence Co. 10 Prestonsburg 5 ( Tuesday ) 

Grant Cochran makes an excellent catch on a foul pop up. 

Grant Cochran went 3 for 4 with a double and four runs batted in and picked up the win in relief going two and 2/3 innings, gave up zero runs, allowed three hits, two walks and struck out two. 

Max Murriell singled, drove in one and scored a run, Alex Meadows and CJ Whitt singled and drove in one run each, Boedy Maynard and Brady Caudill singled and scored two runs, Braxton Davis singled and scored a run, Owen Pack had one RBI and scored a run, Maddox Fletcher singled, Gray Derifield scored a run. 

Russell 11 Lawrence Co. 4 ( Friday ) 

Boedy Maynard displays his first career home run ball. 

Boedy Maynard went 3 for 4 and hit his first career home run but the Dawgs dropped the road contest to the Red Devils. 

Owen Pack went 2 for 2, Gray Derifield doubled, drove in two runs and scored a run, Maddox Fletcher, Grant Cochran and Brady Caudill singled, Eli Caudill scored a run. 

The Dawgs will travel to Paintsville on Thursday at 6:00 and George Washington ( WV ) on Saturday at 1:00.

“… We’ve played well this week so far.

“… Talked to our guys today about making winning plays. We made 5 huge defensive plays last night that proved to be the difference 

“… Proud of our guys. We’ve gotten great senior leadership and a bunch of young guys that are hungry. We understand it’s a process and we’ll have nights the ball doesn’t bounce our way and that’s ok. Excited to continue into the teeth of our schedule.”’
