Linda “Janet” Hall Rice, 88, of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2026. Born on December 15, 1937, she was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, John and Leeta Mae Chapman Hall; sisters Thelma Jean Robinette Dean, Rose Lenora Meek, Peggy Myrtle Scarberry, Judy Garland Hall, and Dorothy Ernestine Senters; and grandson James Adam Sammons.
Janet is survived by her twin sister, Jo Lee; children Vickie (Dave) Sammons, Teresa (Johnny) Pannell, Renee (Matthew) Shannon, and Beverly (Barry) Workman; grandchildren Amy (Marty) Peck, David (Holly) Sammons II, John (Jennifer) Pannell IV, Paula (Russell) Hehn, Megan (Craig) Meade, Cindi (Junior) Salyers, Kevin (Alisha) Workman II, and Riley Sammons; great-grandchildren David Sammons III, Jenna Sammons, Kiersten Pannell, Kara Pannell, Maci Salyers, Haleigh and (Jake) Moore, Dylan (Belle) Peck, Emilee Hehn, Adalie Workman, and Ainslie Workman; great-great-grandchildren Wyatt Moore, Baby Moore arriving in May 2026, and Baby Peck arriving in August 2026.
Janet enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and making memories which included Easter egg hunts, taco dinners, Bingo, playing Phase10 and flea marketing with her sister Jo. There isn’t a soul in Louisa who didn’t know about Janet and Jo’s iconic yard sales or her famous cheerio candy.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24, 2026 from 11:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 2:00 PM in Young Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Chuck Price will officiate. Burial will follow in the Peck Cemetery in Chapman, KY.
Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Ms. Rice and her family.
