LC PUBLIC LIBRARY NOW HAS A SEWING MACHINE…

The Lawrence County Public Library Board of Trustees had a meeting on Monday, February 9, 2026 at noon.

LCPL Director Deena Meade was in attendance along with Board of Directors including Andi Wilson, Lynn Perry, JoJo Triplett, Connie Fairchild, and Lindsay Smith. Also in attendance was Josh Puckett the library’s attorney and Jeff from KDLA.

DIRECTORS REPORT

Library director Deena Meade discussed several topics during the Directors Report.

First, there is now a Sewing Machine for the public to use at the library,

Shelving for books will be changed and lastly,

Library now has a Catalog of Tests with study guides.

This is Free of charge and you can test as many times as you want. The catalog is called Mometrix Test Preparation and it lets you test for the ACT, Nursing and Military Tests, etc. Meade added that the testing will be fabulous for the community. Motion given by Andi Wilson and seconded by Connie Fairchild.

JANUARY MEETING MINUTES

The January Meeting Minutes were unanimously approved with a Motion by Connie Fairchild and seconded by Lynn Perry.

APPROVE DECEMBER 2025 FINANCIALS

The December 2025 Financials were unanimously approved with a Motion by Andi Wilson and seconded by Lynn Perry.

The Collection Development Policy states what books will be available to the library. No Action was taken at this time. A Special Meeting will be held at a later date for completing this policy.
