Frankfort, Kentucky (January 16, 2026) – This week, Representative Scott Sharp, of Ashland, filed HB 360, legislation aimed at protecting children from sexually explicit performances. The bill would ban children at sexually explicit performances.

“Adults have every right to choose their form of entertainment, but we have a clear responsibility to protect children from sexually explicit content,” said Sharp. “Children are only innocent for a short period of time, and it’s important to preserve their innocence as they grow. When individuals knowingly expose children to sexual performances, we must take this seriously.

Under the provisions of HB 360, an “adult show” is defined as live shows which are sexually explicit, or a performance by male or female impersonators meant to sexually arouse people, shows sexual conduct in an offensive way, and has no serious artistic, literary, political, or scientific value. The bill applies to adult performances held on public property or in places where children under the age of 18 could be exposed to the performance.
