SWEET SIXTEEN: CHART GRAPH SHOWING WHAT POUND AMOUNT OF FOOD WAS DONATED TO EACH OF THE 16 KENTUCKY STATE POLICE POSTS ACROSS THE STATE DURING THE ‘CRAM THE CRUISER’ CAMPAIGN DURING THE YEAR END OF THE HOLIDAY SEASONS .

During last week’s Team Ky Update, Kentucky Governor Andrew Beshear  commended Kentuckians for their extraordinary generosity in donating to the Kentucky State Police (KSP) annual “Cram the Cruiser” food drive. The Governor announced that 306,961 pounds of food was donated.

“Kentuckians always show up for one another, and this year’s response to the ‘Cram the Cruiser’ drive is another powerful example of that spirit,” said Governor Beshear. “These donations will help thousands of families enjoy a more hopeful holiday, and I’m deeply grateful to everyone who contributed.”

All 16 KSP posts joined the statewide initiative, focusing on collecting essential non-perishable goods for distribution to local shelters, food banks and community organizations. Donations ranged from canned vegetables, soups, pasta, peanut butter, coffee, powdered milk and other staple items that help sustain families through the winter months.

According to Kentucky State Police Commissioner Phillip Burnett, Jr., he emphasized the impact of keeping every donation within the community where it was collected.

“Each contribution directly supports local families,” said KSP Commissioner Burnett. “Year after year, Kentuckians demonstrate overwhelming compassion and teamwork in the fight against hunger. We’re proud to partner with every donor who helped make this drive a success.”

KSP Post 16 in Henderson, in Henderson County KY., once again led the state, collecting 234,788 pounds, the highest total of any KSP Post this year. KSP Post 16 Captain Brenton Ford credited the remarkable support from residents, businesses and community partners.

“The success of this campaign truly reflects the incredible generosity of our communities within the Post 16 district,” said KSP Captain Ford. “Local businesses and individuals have come together once again to answer the call for help and support those in need. It is an honor to serve our community as we come together in such a worthwhile mission.”

Since its launch in 2010, “Cram the Cruiser” has provided over three and a half million pounds of food to Kentuckians in need, strengthening local hunger-relief networks and offering vital assistance to families during the holidays.
