Bulldogs Split Two Contests This Week; 2-0 In 58Th District Action

Prestonsburg, Ky. — Lawrence County moved to 2-0 in District play after a 81-42 victory over Prestonsburg on Friday at the Prestonsburg Fieldhouse.

Kaiden Harris with a layup in the first quarter against Prestonsburg. 

The Dawgs are also 3-1 on the season after splitting two games this week. 

Kaiden Harris and Hayden Perry led the Dawgs with 18 points each, Kaden Johnson added 16 points, Caden Muncy netted 12 points, Isaah Hughes had 6 points, Luke Fetherolf 5 points, CJ Waller, Grant Cochran and Andrew Ratcliffe had 2 points each. 

The Dawgs hit 5 three pointers and went 13 of 21 from the free throw line. 

Kaden Johnson goes in for a basket and draws the foul. 

PBurg ( 0-4 ) was led by Teagan Slone with 11 points, Andrew Goble 10 points, Waylon Butcher 8 points, Clay Runyon 5 points, Landon Spears and Keagan Prince had 2 points each, Maddox Pugh 1 point.

The Blackcats hit 7 three pointers and went 5 of 9 from the free throw line.

The Dawgs lost a nail biter on the road on Tuesday. 

CJ Waller led the way with 20 points, Kaiden Harris added 17 points, Caden Muncy scored 11 points, Kaden Johnson netted 7 points, Luke Fetherolf had 6 points, Hayden Perry had 5 points, Isaah Hughes and Andrew Ratcliffe chipped with 2 points each.

The Dawgs will travel to Morehead to face Rowan Co. ( 1-3 ) in the Stockyard Bank Classic at 8:00 tonight.

COACH’S COMMENTS

“…Started off the week with a tough loss at Pikeville. We didn’t play our best that game and still had a chance to win. We didn’t do a very good job with shot selection and our offense was very stagnant that night. We followed that up with a good practice the next day where we really hammered some offensive stuff.

“…Had a great win last night at Prestonsburg. Anytime you can go in and get a district win, you will gladly take it. Proud of this team and look forward to the Christmas tournaments.”
