LOUISA, Ky — At approximately 2:45pm Louisa Police Department, Louisa Fire Department and Patriot EMS responded to the area of Jackson Brothers garage for a report of a pedestrian being hit by a train.
Officers located a female on the East side of the tracks at the north end of Jefferson Street. The female was alert but had apparent potentially serious injuries.
Due to the incident, the CSX train had to perform an emergency stop which caused all railroad crossings in the city to be blocked resulting in emergency responders having to access the scene from different areas.
Officers and firefighters rendered first aid and then transferred the patient in a stokes basket under the train to the west side of the tracks where EMS was located.  The female then was transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital in West Virginia.
At this time we will not be releasing the name of the individual as the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
