Linda Juanita Wilson Hardin, age 82 of Louisa, passed away peacefully at home on September 2, 2025, after an extended illness.
Linda was born to Samuel Jay and Elsie Marie (Webb) Wilson on January 14, 1943, in Lawrence County, Kentucky. She was a proud graduate of Louisa High School.
As a young wife and mother, Linda gave her life to Christ. Through her persistent prayer, testimony, and love, her beloved husband George soon followed in becoming a Christ follower. She remained steadfast in her devotion to her Savior, guiding her children and grandchildren to know Him as well. Linda was a faithful member of the Louisa Free Will Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and earnestly shared her gift of cooking for many church functions. Although her passing marks the close of her earthly life, her family takes comfort in knowing that her Lord has lovingly welcomed her into her heavenly home.
Linda had a talent for making her home a warm and beautiful space where all felt welcome. She delighted in tending her many flower beds and was known for her love of cooking, which she shared generously with her family, church, and the children of Lawrence County. She retired in 2004 as the Food Service Manager of Louisa Elementary School, where she took great pride in preparing delicious meals for the students. She will always be remembered for her servant’s heart, her ability to make every meal feel like home and the way she used her gifts to bless others.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, George Hardin; siblings, Dorothy Wilson, Phoeba Fannin, Woodrow Wilson, Carolyn Lemaster, and Ina Lambert.
Linda is survived by her four children: Winton (Bain) Hardin, Jayne (Greg) Estepp, Sharon Parsons, and LeAnna (Roger) Hensley. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply: Lyndi (Kyle) Tarr, Katelynn (Blake) DeBacher, Ethan (Abby) Parsons, Ashley Hardin, Caroline Hensley, and Collin Hensley; as well as five great-grandchildren: Ava Parsons, Bryce DeBacher, Isabel Parsons, Cameron DeBacher, and Adeline Parsons. Linda is also survived by her loving sisters, Thelma Komar, Phyllis Bryant, and Frances Chapman along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Linda’s caregivers Teresa, Faye, Brenda and Loudella, for their kindness and devotion during her illness.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Linda’s life on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Louisa Free Will Baptist Church, with Bro. Venny VanHoose officiating. A graveside service will follow at Yatesville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the church.
