Dawgs looking to carry momentum into long road trip at Garrard County

Lancaster, Ky. — After a blowout victory on opening night at Martin Co. the Bulldogs will hit the road to face Garrard Co. in the Golden Lion Bowl Friday night. 

Couple of touchdowns from the victory over the Cardinals.

In the 35-7 road victory over the Cardinals the Bulldogs led 35-0 with 8:00 to go in the first half.

Once the clock was running the Dawgs were conservative the rest of the first half and played the reserves the entire second half. 

Senior QB Luke Fetherolf was a perfect 6-6 passing for 188 yards and a touchdown. 

#8 Mitchell Frazier and #21 Carlo Chicko combine to bring down the Cardinal running back. 

Junior Kaden Johnson hauled in 3 passes for 127 yards, one touchdown on the ground and a punt return touchdown. 

Junior Carlo Chicko caught 2 passes for 26 yards and Sophomore Gray Derifield hauled in a 25 yard touchdown pass. 

Eight different Bulldogs carried the ball in the win totaling 186 yards. 

Junior Cavin Williams was the leading rusher with 52 yards on 5 attempts and 1 touchdown, Freshman Darren Brewer had 45 yards on 9 carries, Kaden Johnson 3 carries for 23 yards and TD, Luke Fetherolf 23 yards on 3 carries, Sophomore Chandler Preece 2 carries for 20 yards, Sophomore Mitchell Frazier 14 yards on 2 attempts, Freshman Braylen Stumbo 9 yards on 3 attempts, Freshman Devon Fluty 1 rush for 0 yards. 

Senior Brayden Queen was a perfect 5-5 on extra point kicks. 

On defense the Dawgs were flat out flying around the field and allowed under 100 yards of total offense against Martin County. 

Preece was the leading tackler with 8, Cameron Castle had 6, Colton McDowell and Aiden Patton had 5 each, Brady Nelson and Mitchell Frazier 4 each, Braxton Davis had an interception. 

Garrard County is 1-0 after a 29-19 victory over North Bullitt. 

The Golden Lions rushed for 233 yards on 47 attempts and two touchdowns. Leading rusher was Lucas Whitt with 72 yards on 20 carries, RJ Blair had 64 yards on 14 attempts and Justin Parsons scored two touchdowns on 9 carries for 55 yards. Parsons was also 4 for 9 for 34 yards and two passing touchdowns.

Gavin Baker and Mason Agee had one receiving touchdown each. 

Kickoff is set for 8:30 and will be the first ever meeting between the two programs. 

The first game of the Golden Lion Bowl doubleheader will pit Lincoln Co. ( 1-0 ) versus Estill Co. ( 1-0 ) with kickoff set for 6:00.
