COACH’S COMMENTS
“… It was a good trip, first time that we have been to the Knoxville area for spring break and I think our kids have enjoyed it. We have done some team things together which I think is important and will pay dividends down the road.”
“… Westview out of Indiana was a good ball club, very solid all around. It was a good win overall. Today’s win over Fulton was a good win as well. Thought we had a lot of strikes in that game and scored nine in the first doesn’t help. Trying to get to where we can win them all. The first game today we struggled to get off the field. In four of our losses it has been that way and more often than not it’s been the first inning. And it’s tough on kids and heck it’s tough on major leaguers. We have struggled on the defensive side of the ball and struggled to throw strikes. It’s tough to overcome that when you put yourself in such a hole. We had three or four chances to get right back in it and South-Doyle made a couple plays and credit to them they are a good ball club and got the win. They played with a lot of energy and we didn’t.”
“… I told the guys after the game we are officially a week into April and our team is going to be molded this month. Next week in the 2A section starts the meat of our season. We have had four big District games so far and the 2A is a big deal to our school and we have won the section back to back and played for a state title two years ago in Owensboro. It’s a big week circled in our schedule and we will get back home this weekend and get to work.”
