Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence County girls soccer opened the regular season on Tuesday with a 6-2 defeat against West Carter.

Sophomore Libby Carlton looks to move the ball down the field.

Sophomore Paula Corominas and Madison Pauley scored the two goals for the Bulldogs.

Freshman Harper Cline controls the ball against West Carter.

The SoccerDawgs will return to action on Thursday with a trip to Belfry and then head to Pikeville for a 10:00 game on Saturday.

Sophomore goal keeper Emalynn Kitts boots the ball away after a save.

Lawrence Co. Head Coach Sonny Mynhier

COACH’S COMMENTS

“…It wasn’t the season opener we were hoping for but it showed us where we are lacking, which can be more beneficial than a win at times. Sometimes this is needed for growth and preparation.

“…While we did show some improvement in areas that we have worked on, we will continue to work on the weak areas that were exposed last night in upcoming practices and be more prepared to take on our next opponent.”
