Louisa, Ky. — Football season is officially upon us as the Lawrence County Bulldogs opened up practice on the beautiful turf at Luke Varney Jr. Memorial Stadium Monday morning.

The Dawgs had almost 40 kids out at 8:00 Monday morning with several still on vacation and some not cleared because of injuries.
The Bulldogs who went 8-4 in 2024 return a ton of talent and look to light up the scoreboard with big offensive numbers in 2025.

Senior Luke Fetherolf will be back at Quarterback and will be looking to put together another stellar season.
Junior Caven Williams is back after having his sophomore campaign short circuited because of an injury, Junior Kaden Johnson is expected to put up some big numbers this season, Junior Carlo Chicko and Sophomore Gray Derifield and Junior Cameron Castle will also play big roles offensively.
Senior Braxton Davis and Sophomores Mitchell Frazier, Chandler Preece and Colton McDowell are also very talented players.

Upfront the Dawgs are led by Juniors Ty Brooks and Colbie Prince along with Sophomore Hayden Thomas and Junior Maddox Dancer.

Lawrence Co. will open the regular season on the road against neighboring Martin Co. on Friday August 22nd.
The Bulldogs home opener will be September 5th against Ashland.
The District will look a little different this year with longtime rival Belfry dropping to Class 2A and Letcher Co. Central coming into District 8.
