COACH’S COMMENTS
“… She’s fierce, fiesty, and fast. Serena has been a member of the track program all four years of her high school career, and it shows. She has really blossomed into a formidable runner, especially in this, her last year in high school. She has won at practically every track meet this year. More importantly than athletics, she is academically very smart and will be very successful in life.”
“… This was her last shot at qualifying for the state meet, and like the champion that she is, she made it count.”
“… Copley said the team worked hard, but that this was a rebuilding year for them.
“… We lost seven amazing athletes to graduation last year, and three of our girls suffered season ending non-related track injuries this year. Even with the losses, our very inexperienced and new team members won multiple events at every meet this year. I can’t say enough about the overall success of this team since we restarted the track program at Tolsia eight years ago. They have won four regional championships and five runner-up titles in relays, distance, and jumping despite the issue with the school having no track where we can practice.”
“ Copley added that he would have preferred the whole team to have qualified, but that the end of regional was gratifying because Serena Reeves was the only senior.”

PLAYER’S COMMENTS
“… I have been running under Coach Copley since my freshman year. Every year I have put more dedication and heart into the sport. The chance to go to state in an individual event has always seemed unobtainable until just a couple of meets ago. I cannot take all the credit for this achievement though. My coach and team have pushed me to be the athlete I am today.”
