[Editor’s note: After watching the meeting virtually, which consists of Chairman Preston’s face only, we added the board members who made motions to this story from the BOE}
When is Preston going to resign?
People please stop saying Lawrence is a poor county. Evidently we’re not.
I know the taxpayer’s are not getting any richer
Am I the only one who thinks a million dollar softball field house is outragous? You got to be kidding me. Lawrence county lottery strikes again.
Wow, almost a million dollars for a building……. Teachers got a .01% raise which is a slap in the face…… pitiful
When will the Louisa West Elementary School get updated? Let’s invest in ALL these kids not just the athletes.
You people had the chance to update all the county schools but you gagged on a little 5 cent tax increase. This money comes from a different source.
Joey it still comes from the taxpayers. Try to keep up
Agree with Kag again ( see there are places we can agree). Our tax money seems to go to the wrong things. If the school needs redone why is money going for a softball field. Why take a raise in taxes when the govt can’t seem to use what they get now wisely.
JC, that’s 5 cents for every $100.00 of property value. They were not very truthful in this. The board of education said it was to replace Louisa West. After that it was for other improvements and DEBT. It would have never ended. Now Fletcher wants a dime tax. I would vote for it for replacing Louisa West only if it was taken back off when it was paid for. Like I’ve always said TRANSPARENCY goes a long way.
Lawrence co. should help the animal shelter. The softball field is good enough. The library is good enough. Lets help our animal friends. We need elected officials to look out for whats best. Stop wasting our money on improvements that are not needed. Help the animal shelter. Enough is enough. Someone needs to stand up to these spenders of others money. There should be a revolt in Lawrence County. Especially at the next school board meeting. The whole board is irresponsible. Vote them out!!!!!!!
