LOUISA, Ky. — Rotary held their weekly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 12th. After the Prayer, Pledge of Allegiance And reciting the Four Way Test, President Elaine Desario spoke about last weeks Septemberfest. The club sold out of the famous Bahama Mama’s and Rotary Hash. She stated “The only thing left was onions and peppers and those were donated to the food pantry in Louisa!”
In announcements Desario asked Lawrence Supt. Dr. Rob Fletcher for any LCHS news and he stated that this week is Homecoming. The community is welcome to come and watch the talent and skits the high school puts on each day. Fletcher said that homecoming at LCHS is all about the students working together! Also he talked about the new App for Lawrence County Schools. He explained the app as a way to communicate better for anyone signed up.
“School menus, cancellations and anything going on in LC schools. We are the 3rd County in Kentucky to get this app. We have the ability to send to all platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and instagram is next. “
The guest speaker was Dr. Caleb Perry who spoke about the body’s energy and stress and how to get healthy. So much information that he will be coming back to finish during another meeting and he was already the speaker last week.
Dr. Perry told Rotarians that “the mind is such a powerful organ that people have healed themselves of disease by thinking positive! We have a tendency to underestimate how powerful our minds are.”
