Louisa, Ky. — Class 3A District 8 Football will look a ‘little bit’ different in 2025 for Lawrence County with Letcher Central replacing longtime rival Belfry.
The Bulldogs will have a much different schedule this upcoming season after going 8-4 in 2024 and falling in the second round of the playoffs on the road at Bell County 44-12.
Lawrence Co. will host two scrimmages against Russell on August 8th and Prestonsburg August 15th.
The Regular season will kickoff in Inez against the Martin County Cardinals on Friday August 22nd, a game that has not been played in the past few years but is a great rivalry. The Cards are currently playing in Class 2A..
On August 29th the Bulldogs will play in a bowl game at Garrard County.
The Home opener will be on Friday September 5th against the Ashland Tomcats.
After a bye week on September 12th Lawrence Co. will host Class 5A foe North Laurel on September 19th.
The first District game will be on the road at Letcher Central on September 26th.
On October 3rd the Dawgs will close out non-district play with a home game against Mason County. The Bulldogs have won the last two meetings in the series with the Royals.
Lawrence Co. will travel to Powell Co. for another District game on October 10th. The Bulldogs have won 5 out of 6 in the series with the Pirates.
The Dawgs will host Estill Co. on Friday October 17th. The Bulldogs are 2-0 since the Engineers came into District 8.
They will close out the regular season with a District game against Magoffin Co. on October 24th. The Bulldogs have won 11 in a row since 2010 over the Hornets.
They end the regular season with Boyd County.
