COACH’S COMMENTS
“… Unbelievable day at Rebel Arena and to cap it off with a victory over undefeated Sherman was awesome. Our defense was really good but the second half was a clinic. Our goal every game is to hold our opponent to under 50 points and to hold them to 43 and only 17 in the second half was huge. So proud of our team, been a rough start for us and I didn’t do them any favors with the schedule I put together but it will pay off in the end.”
“… People sometimes don’t understand why we bring the youth league up here to play, we always invite them and they don’t have to come but it is a big deal for us to do it. We started three years ago feeding them cake and putting Nickelodeon on the tv in the players lounge and those kids come out with blue faces and a big smile. We also had Fort Gay and Crum play here and big shoutout to Fort Gay because it was their home game and they agreed to play at Rebel Arena. I talked to both teams together after the game and I know we say it often but the future is bright for Tolsia Basketball with what I seen today.”
“… I can’t have Youth League day without all the help we get like Micheal Shawn, the coaches, the players and all of the parents as well. I love everyone up here for this event, the players serving them cake, sitting down with them watching tv, had one kid stay in here 2 hours and his mom come looking for him and he was stretched out on the couch with two pieces of cake watching tv.”
