Lenore, W.Va. — The Crum middle school basketball team won the E&A Summer Hoops Classic this past weekend.

Crum 45 Kermit 38
In the first game the Mountaineers took care of rival Kermit. Anakin Deskins led the way with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Parker Stacy had 12 points, 3 steals and went 9 of 10 from the free throw line, Steeler Salmons had 11 points and hit 2 of 3 three pointers, Carson Castle had 4 points and Lawson Stacy chipped in with 2 points.

In the second game of the tournament Crum blasted the Bulldogs behind Parker Stacy who had 12 points including 2 three pointers, Steeler Salmons had 11 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds, Anakin Deskins 10 points and 4 rebounds, Carson Castle had 10 points and 5 steals, Mason Stumbo and Lawson Stacy had 6 points each and Charles Ferguson chipped in with 4 points.

In the championship game the Mountaineers took care of the Wolfpack. Tournament MVP Steeler Salmons poured in a game high 24 points including 4 three pointers, added 6 steals and 5 rebounds as well, Carson Castle tallied 8 points and 4 rebounds, Anakin Deskins 4 points and 8 rebounds, Lawson Stacy 2 points and 4 rebounds, Parker Stacy and Mason Stumbo 2 steals each, Charles Ferguson grabbed 1 rebound and had 1 steal.
This Crum team will be a force to reckon with at the middle school level the next couple of years and then when they move up to the high school level at Tolsia a few state tournament appearances should be attainable.
