Three people from Wayne County, West Virginia, two women and a man, were arrested just after midnight Tuesday morning, with the two women in nearly all of the troubles, after they were busted on multiple drug possession charges, with four types of illegal hard narcotics found in their vehicle
According to the arrest citations reports, on Tuesday morning, May 21, at 12:17 A.M., Lawrence County Sheriff Office deputy Joseph Osborne initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle is he in Louisa City Police patrolman officer Michael Housinger observed the vehicle pull into the Three Rivers Food Mart parking lot after store hours.
Deputy Osborne observed the female driver of the vehicle switch places with a male subject.
Deputy Osborne stated that he recognized the male subject, identified as John Henry New, 38, of Dunlow, West Virginia; and he knew that John New had an active warrant for his arrest. While running John New’s drivers license, deputy Osborne initiated a deployment of his K9 unit, which gave a positive alert on the passenger side of the vehicle.
The woman and another female were asked to exit the vehicle. The woman who switched places with the man, identified as Brittany Preece, 26, of Dunlow, West Virginia; told deputy Osborne that she switched seats because she did not have a driver’s license.
While the officers searched the vehicle, deputy Osborne observed a vial in the backseat where the other female was seated, who was identified as Amber Brock, 25, of Dunlow, West Virginia. Upon further investigation, deputy Osborne observed a white rock substance dumped in the seat beside of the vial.
Also in the backseat under a car seat was a pouch containing baggies of suspected heroin, and another pouch containing a pipe and methamphetamine.
In all, deputy Osborne stated in the arrest citation report that the search of the vehicle yielded a large quantity of methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and fentanyl, along with glass smoking pipes, being seized.
When deputy Osborne asked Amber Brock about the various narcotics that were found, she stated that the substance found in the seat was crack cocaine, and the suspected heroin was actually fentanyl.
Amber Brock stated to deputy Osborne that she was in possession of the narcotics and had brought them into Kentucky from West Virginia. However, when deputy Osborne initially approached both of the women, he heard Brittany Preece demand that Amber Brock claim ownership of the drugs that were found.
Brittany Preece stated to deputy Osborne that she did not say this, but deputy Osborne wrote that he clearly heard Brittany Precce tell Amber Brock “tell them it’s yours”. The two women were taken into custody at 1:35 A.M., and were charged with the following offenses: Amber Brock was charged with:
