Louisa Rotary Club Welcomes District Governor Greg Palmer for an Inspiring November 20th Meeting
The Louisa Rotary Club gathered on Thursday, November 20th, for a truly memorable and uplifting meeting. Members and guests enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Hillbilly Hibachi, setting the tone for a warm and energetic afternoon of fellowship.
The highlight of the meeting was the presence of Rotary District 6740 Governor Greg Palmer, whose enthusiasm for Rotary is nothing short of contagious. Governor Palmer delivered an informative and deeply inspiring presentation, reminding everyone of the powerful ripple effect one individual can create when serving their community. In a surprise twist that delighted the room, he shared the children’s book “What Do You Do with an Idea?” by Kobi Yamada—an unexpected but heartfelt message about courage, creativity, and believing in possibilities. His love for Rotary shone through every moment and left a lasting impact on all who attended.

The club was also honored to welcome special guests—representatives from the Family Resource Centers across Lawrence County Schools. Their dedication to students and families made the next portion of the meeting especially meaningful. Following lunch, Rotary members gathered at Louisa Walmart to distribute Thanksgiving turkeys to the Family Resource Center representatives, helping ensure that families in need throughout the county can enjoy a holiday meal together. It was a heartwarming reminder of what service above self truly looks like.
Rotary continues to be a driving force for good within the community. For those looking to make a meaningful impact, network with leaders, and contribute to projects that directly support local families, the Louisa Rotary Club invites you to consider becoming a member. There’s always room at the table for someone eager to serve.
Before closing, members were encouraged to check out Kentucky’s new “Peace” specialty license plate when renewing vehicle registration. Each plate purchased provides Rotary with a $10 donation—an easy and impactful way to support Rotary initiatives across the state.
From thoughtful leadership to hands-on service, the November 20th meeting was a shining example of the difference Rotary makes. Supporting your local Rotary Club helps support your entire community—and every contribution matters.
