Wayne County Students Participate in Social Studies Fair
BY REBECCA MAYNARD
Students from schools across Wayne County gathered at Crum Pre k-8 on January 14, 2020 to participate in the Wayne County Social Studies Fair. Students first competed at their schools and placed first in order to move on to the county level. Students who placed first at the county level will move on to the Regional Social Studies Fair Competition held at the Big Sandy Civic Center Arena on March 11, 2020.
The fair is divided into three divisions: Division I (Elementary grades 3-5); Division II (Middle grade 6-8); and Division III (High School). Each division is broken down into individual and/or group projects. It includes a variety of categories such as World History, U.S. History, Geography, Psychology, and a few others. Students were required to complete three parts: an oral presentation to a group of judges; a written abstract, and a project display. All the students that participated worked very hard.
