PREVIOUSLY, IN THE NINE DAYS FROM 12:01 A.M. JUNE 27 THRU 11:59 P.M. JULY 5; OUT OF THE AT LEAST 130 INMATES BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE , 27 OF THEM WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY, WITH 6 MORE IN NEARBY COUNTIES (2 IN JOHNSON COUNTY, AND 4 IN MARTIN COUNTY).
THIS TIME, IN THE LAST SEVEN DAYS FROM 12:01 A.M. JULY 6 THRU 11:59 P.M. JULY 12; OUT OF THE AT LEAST 93 INMATES BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE , ONLY 7 OF THEM WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY. (AND FOUR OF THOSE WERE FROM A METH BUST LAST FRIDAY).
THE JAIL POPULATION WAS NEARLY BUSTING AT THE SEAMS, AT SUNRISE MONDAY MORNING, JULY 10, THERE WERE 280 INMATES AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER, A FACILITY WHICH HOLDS A MAXIMUM DESIGNATED CAPACITY FOR 225. A WHOLE BUNCH WERE BONDED OUT MONDAY MORNING, BUT THE STEADY PACE OF ARRESTS FROM THE COUNTIES THAT SURROUND LAWRENCE COUNTY AND THROUGHOUT THE AREA HAS KEPT NUMBERS IN THE MID TO UPPER 260s DURING THE WEEK.

Jude, 40, of Louisa, was arrested on July 7, 2017, at 1:41 P.M., by chief deputy Mark Wheeler of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE), • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS, • PAROLE VIOLATION (FOR TECHNICAL VIOLATION).
Sherry Bowen, 31, of Louisa, was arrested on July 7, 2017, at 1:41 P.M., by chief deputy Mark Wheeler of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE), • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
April Ann Harper, 33, of Louisa, was arrested on July 7, 2017, at 1:41 P.M., by chief deputy Mark Wheeler of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE), • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
Michael Earnest Pennington, 31, of Grayson, Kentucky; was arrested on July 7, 2017, at 1:41 P.M., by sergeant Chuck Jackson of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS ( TWO SEPARATE COUNTS ), • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 3RD OFFENSE, • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE).

Henry Douglas Godman, 49, of Florence, Kentucky; was arrested on July 7, 2017, at 11:40 A.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS, • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/ INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 (AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCE) 1ST OFFENSE.
Bryan A. Bowen, 24, of Louisa, was arrested on July 10, 2017, at 12:22 P.M., by sergeant Chuck Jackson of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION BICYCLES UNDER/$500, • CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON, • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.
Jason S. McKinney, 30, of Louisa, was arrested on July 11, 2017, at 2:44 A.M., by patrolman officer Julius Musick of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) NO VISIBLE INJURY, • SEXUAL ABUSE – 3RD DEGREE.
