On April 15th, Dr. Jeff M. Shannon successfully defended his research and earned the degree of doctor of education from Morehead State University. Dr. Shannon is from Louisa, a Lawrence County High School graduate and has served as an educator in Floyd County for the past 14 years.
Dr. Shannon’s tract concentrated on leadership. His research focused on Career and Technical Education administration, instructional design and college/career readiness innovations.
Dr. Webb (Superintendent) comments, “The board team and I congratulate Jeff on obtaining this advanced degree. It’s terrific to see our TEAM members growing in our field in order to better serve our KIDS.”
In response to why he decided to pursue this degree Dr. Shannon replied, “It was an outstanding opportunity to grow as a leader and discover a wide range of innovative approaches to help our kids, schools and communities. Our young people in Eastern Kentucky have a great deal to offer America’s future workforce.”
Dr. Shannon and his wife Michelle, have one daughter, Rileigh. They are members of First Baptist Church of Louisa.
