A MAN WHO LIKES FIGHTING A COP; AND GETS TASED AND ARRESTED FOR HIS EFFORT: TREY MORROW, 29, OF PAINTSVILLE, KENTUCKY.
A wild altercation erupted at a Paintsville, KY. business when a man was arrested on Sunday, September 11, after he became violently combative, when he tackled the Paintsville Police Department officer who was arresting him during the attempt to remove him from a Speedway gas station, according to court documents.
According to an arrest citation report, it was claimed by Paintsville Police Department sergeant Mitchell Williamson, who was dispatched to the store, when police dispatch received word that a man that had been banned from the Speedway gas station, for shoplifting came into the store and whereupon he began “taking stuff,” and that he would not leave when the employees asked.
The arrest citation said that Trey Morrow, 29, of Paintsville, then became disorderly with the staff and other customers at the business.
When sergeant Mitchell Williamson made contact with Trey Morrow, it was written in the arrest citation, that then it was when TreyMorrow ran at sergeant Williamson, “taking (him) to the ground, causing (him) to strike his head on the black top in front of the gas station.” At that point, the arrest citation said, another officer had to deploy his Taser to help sergeant Williamson gain control of Trey Morrow.
Sergeant Williamson specifically noted in the arrest citation that he thought Trey Morrow was “going to try to take (his) police service weapon.”
Trey Morrow was arrested without further incident, and he was transported to and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center and was charged with six criminal offenses, which were as the following: *CRIMINAL TRESPASSING-2ND DEGREE, *THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500, *DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 2ND DEGREE, *MENACING, *RESISTING ARREST, *ASSAULT 3RD – PEACE OFFICER – COMMUNICABLE BODILY FLUID.
Trey Morrow had his first pretrial conference set in Johnson County District Court on Wednesday, September 14; and he remains in custody at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, KY., as of Monday night, September 19. His bond is currently set at *2,525 full cash bond only.
