LOUISA, KY. — Tomorrow, voters will go to the polls to elect candidates for the General election in November. Besides the Governor’s race, the Secretary of State and Ag Commissioner the only races for voters to choose from this year.
The county fiscal court has postponed its regular meeting until Thursday at 10:30 and all offices will be closed.
A potential three way contest between Attorney General Daniel Cameron, Secretary of Agriculture Ryan Quarles and newcomer Kelly Craft has emerged, with Cameron the early favorite in the GOP Primary.. Craft, a wealthy politically active citizen and wife of millionaire Joe Craft has invested heavily in media and has made a run out of it. Quarles is the dark horse as the candidate who has personally visited nearly all 120 Kentucky counties, including Lawrence driving his antique tractor.
Also on the Republican ballot Secretary of State Michael Adams is the favorite to keep his position against two opponents. Allison Ball is the heavy favorite to retain her position as state auditor and State Treasurer and Ag Commissioner are toss ups.
Democrats have only the Governor’s race where incumbent Governor Andy Beshear is the favorite snd Ag Commissioner which is another todd up.
Early voting has been dismal according to clerk Chris Jobe last Wednesday when early voting began He did not return phone calls Friday or today.
