MARTIN COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT ASKS FOR PUBLIC HELP IN SEARCHING FOR ITS ‘MOST WANTED’
PUBLIC RELEASE LEADS TO ARREST OF TWO OF THE ‘WANTED’
SHERIFF’S OFFICE SOUGHT WHEREABOUTS OF FIVE SUSPECTS; TWO OF THOSE SUSPECTS GET CAUGHT WITHIN HOURS ACROSS THE RIVER IN WEST VIRGINIA

On Tuesday morning February 7, the Martin County Sheriff Department released two separate press releases asking for the assistance from local residents after releasing the names of five individuals that the sheriff’s office regarded as their “most wanted” suspects, and were seeking information on the locations of where these suspects could be found.
Within a matter of a few hours, two of those suspects were captured across over the river border after a vehicle police pursuit in West Virginia.
JAMES KENNETH GILLMAN, CAPTURED IN MINGO COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA FEBRUARY 7, 2017. James Kenneth Gillman, 58, was wanted in Martin County on 6 criminal charges composing of two felonies, three misdemeanors, and a major speeding violation. Those charges were as the following: 1. FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 1ST DEGREE (MOTOR VEHICLE) 520.095 FELONY, 2. WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE-POLICE OFFICER 508.060 FELONY, 3. POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 2ND DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED 218A.1416 MISDEMEANOR, 4. CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON 527.020 MISDEMEANOR, 5. NO OPERATORS-MOPED LICENSE 186.410(1) MISDEMEANOR, 6. SPEEDING 26 MPH OR > SPEED LIMIT 189.390 VIOLATION.
James Gillman remains lodged in the Southwestern Regional Jail in Holden, West Virginia, which is in Logan County.
Gillman was caught and arrested later in the day on February 7 after police vehicle chase in neighboring Mingo County, West Virginia, whereas now Gillman is in deeper troubles, after being charged with six felonies by the Mingo County Sheriff Department. Those new felony charges Gillman faces are: #1 DRIVING SUSPENDED-1ST OFFENSE – NOTES: PTF Pretrial Felon, #2 RECKLESS DRIVING – NOTES: PTF Pretrial Felon, #3 FLEEING – NOTES: PTF Pretrial Felon, #4 EXPIRED REGISTRATION – NOTES: PTF Pretrial Felon, #5 FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE – NOTES: PTF Pretrial Felon, #6 NO INSURANCE NOTES: PTF Pretrial Felon.
A second ‘wanted’ Martin County suspect was also caught later in the day February 7, also in neighboring Mingo County.

Gary Lee Newsome Jr., 24, was wanted out of Martin County for a grand jury indictment for possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine).
Newsome was arrested on February 7 by the Mingo County Sheriff Department, on three new felony charges in Mingo County. Those charges are: #1 OPERATING A CLANDESTINE DRUG LAB-1 – NOTES: PTF Pretrial Felon, #2 CONSPIRACY – NOTES: PTF Pretrial Felon, #3 FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE – NOTES: PTF Pretrial Felon.

Meanwhile, the Martin County Sheriff is still on the hunt for the other three remaining at large wanted individuals, Those three persons are the following:
TONI KERR A.K.A. TONI MCCOY
Toni Kerr, a.k.a. Toni McCoy, 38, of Debord, Kentucky, is wanted in Martin County on four grand jury indictments on charges consisting of a total of nine felonies and one misdemeanor. Those criminal charges are the following: 15-CR-00075: 1. MANUFACTURING METHAMPHETAMINE, 1ST DEGREE., 2. CRUELTY TO ANIMALS, 2ND DEGREE, 3. PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER II. 17-CR-00011: 1. BAIL JUMPING, 1ST DEGREE, 2. PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER I. 15-CR-00108: 1. MANUFACTURING METHAMPHETAMINE, 1ST DEGREE, 2. POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFF (METHAMPHETAMINE). 3. PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER I. 17-CR-00012: 1. BAIL JUMPING, 1ST DEGREE, 2. PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER I.
DARISSA ADKINS
Darissa Adkins, 35, of Warfield, Kentucky, is wanted in Martin County on two grand jury indictments on charges consisting of two felony charges. Those criminal charges are the following: 1. 16-CR-00011 Fraud use of credit card. 2. 16-CR-00108 Bail jumping, 1st degree.
GENEVA MCGINNIS
Geneva McGinnis, 27, of Debord, Kentucky, is wanted in Martin County on a grand jury indictment on charges consisting of one felony and one misdemeanor charge. Those criminal charges are the following: 17-CR-00004: POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE). DRUG PARAPHERNALIA BUY/POSSESS.
