The Louisa Rotary Club held its regularly scheduled meeting Thursday January 9, 2020. This meeting was held at the Louisa First Baptist Church cafe. They enjoyed a very nice Lasagna, salad and more buffet.
The meeting started out with prayer lead by Pastor Chuck Price, followed by The Pledge of Allegiance and the 4 way test.
Rotary President Elaine DeSario started out by wishing Michelle Brewer and Joe A. Hart a Happy Birthday.
She handed out of couple of monetary gifts as a thank you, one to the First Baptist Church for hosting their weekly meeting at the church, and to Dr. Tommy and Ellen Taylor for hosting the Christmas Party.
The meeting was mostly focused on getting members for Rotary’s International Club. The Rotary International has been having a decline in members and the local club to grow their Rotary’s Clubs. If any business leader is interested in joining they can contact any Rotarian or by their FB Page Louisa Rotary Club.
The members divided up into three groups to discuss best ways to achieve the goals for:
- 1st Community Service/grants and scholarships
- 2nd-International Service Committee/ fundraisers and youth projects.
- 3rd- International Projects with help for Haiti and India.
