This week at Louisa Rotary, Thursday January 11th, the meeting opened as always with the pledge and citing the 4 way test. They recognized the birthday of Michelle Brewer and Anniversary that Dan Smith, aka Preacher Dan had celebrated.
In other announcements, Louisa Rotary donated $1,000 to a ‘Night To Shine’, $500 to Polio vaccination programs and $500 to the First Baptist Church for the use of their facilities every Thursday.
The Speaker was Louisa Mayor Harold Slone. He first announced that he will run again for Mayor of Louisa. “I stood right here, what seems like not long ago, announcing my candidacy for Mayor, now here I am again. Giving my State of the City address.”
After mayor Slone gave his speech, which we (Lazer) will post after he gives it again at City Council, at his request,

Rotary held their weekly meeting for the past two weeks. Last week’s (Jan. 4th) speaker Lee Balaklaw, MD. Introduced his new business along with his wife, Marla Balaklaw. Schooley Mitchell is a business where they do an analysis of existing services and systems for the purpose of identifying billing errors, improving service and reducing costs.
