Louisa, Ky. — It’s been an exciting start to the Cal Ripken league overall and girls softball might be having more fun than anyone so far this season.
The level of talent is pretty good and the crowds gathering around to watch these teams have been outstanding. Girls from ages 7-9 are learning fundamentals, teamwork and how to play the game.
I have seen some close games, great plays and smiles from ear to ear. This league has grown by leaps and bounds over the last three years and the future is bright for girls wanting to play softball in Lawrence Co. for years to come.
