INEZ, KY, — The Louisa Middle baseball team finished off their season with a come from behind 10-7 road victory over Martin Co. Middle Thursday night.
The Middle Dawgs finished the season with a 7-6 record with three of those losses coming to Paintsville who is undefeated on the year. The Dawgs beat East Carter twice, Boyd Co., Martin Co., Prestonsburg, and Magoffin Co.
Against the Cardinals Braydan Maynard went the first six innings on the mound to get the victory for the Bulldogs. Maynard allowed 3 hits, 5 earned runs, walked 4 and struck out 7 batters.
On offense Dylan Whitt went 3-4, Ryan Marcum clubbed an RBI triple and scored twice, Alex Strickland had 1 hit and scored 2 runs, Maynard had 1 hit, Jake Derifield and Mo Chicko scored 2 runs, Mason Preston walked three times and scored once, Gage Meek and JD Montgomery had 1 RBI each.
LMS 6 Magoffin Co. 3 (8th Grade Night)
The Dawgs honored five 8th Graders last Thursday in the third final game at home and then went out and beat the Hornets.
Alex Strickland smacked a 3 RBI double and scored a run to pace the Dawgs, Braydan Maynard doubled and scored, Mo Chicko 1 hit and 1 run, Ford Scaggs went 1-1 with a run scored, Blue Fletcher, Jake Derifield and Dylan Whitt scored a run apiece.
Maynard went 4 and 2/3 innings only allowing 1 hit, striking out 8 and allowed 3 runs, Mo Chicko walked one and struck out the last batter of the game to preserve the victory.

Paintsville 9 LMS 3 ( Tuesday )
The Bulldogs traveled to Paintsville and fell short against a very good team early this week.
Jake Derifield singled and scored two runs, Gage Meek scored once, Alex Strickland and Mason Preston had 1 hit each.
