DAR, AUGUST, 2017
The first meeting, for the new year, of the Louisa Chapter of DAR was held August 22, 2017 in the Cafe of The Louisa First Baptist Church.
The meeting was called to order by new Regent Sabrina May. After DAR Rituals, the minutes from the May meeting was read by Secretary Lynn Courtney and Treasurer report by Sheila Kensinger.
Budget for the new year was passed and the updated version to the Bylaws was handed out and will be voted on in September meeting.
A few of the upcoming projects such as the new Cookbook, Veterans book and new Calendars are in process. Also, the DAR members will be participating in Septemberfest and the Harvest Tour.
The Hostesses for the night were Freddie Daniels, Reba Whitt, and Wanda Cassidy. Everyone appreciated and enjoyed the light meal they prepared and decorations of Red, White, and Blue in honor of Labor Day.
Next meeting will be September 26, 2017 at 6:00 pm in the Cafe of the First Baptist Church. Also a thank you to the Church for the use of their facilities.
