Playoffs begin this Saturday…
Louisa, Ky. — The final home game of the year for the Lawrence Co. Youth football league was this past Saturday as the Dawgs hosted Buffalo from across the river. Up next for Lawrence Co. will be the playoffs beginning this Saturday.
Buffalo 34 Lawrence Co. 22 ( D Team )
In a high scoring affair at Luke Varney Jr Memorial stadium the visiting Bisons came away with the road victory. Lawrence Co. lead 16-14 at halftime behind touchdown runs from Andrew Ratcliffe and Connor York. Jaden Adkins and Ratcliffe added conversion runs in the first half. In the second half Buffalo pulled away for the win. Adkins had a touchdown run in the fourth quarter for the Dawgs.
E Team action
In the E Team game it was the Dawgs defense holding the Bisons scoreless.
On the offensive side LC racked up the points. QB Chase Kendrick had two touchdowns on the ground and completed three passes, all to Mitchell Frazier. Jayson Vanhoose, Jorel Fountian and Frazier all had one touchdown on the ground.
Buffalo 20 Lawrence Co. 0 ( B team )
In the B team game it was Buffalo getting the shutout against the Dawgs. LC could never get going on offense.
The week before the Dawgs traveled to Vinson to play the Tigers and came away with a 20-14 overtime victory. Will McDavid had two touchdowns and a two point conversion to power the Bulldogs to the victory. Cody Crum added a touchdown for the winners.
Lawrence Co. D team finished with a 3-4 record and will travel to Douglass-Cammack (7-0 ) on Saturday morning. E team will also play D-C.
Lawrence Co. B team finished with a 3-2 record and will play Gallipolis ( 2-5 ) at Chesapeake around noon on Saturday.
