Today I graduated.
Today I said goodbye to my class of 160 students, give or take, that I have grown up with for the last THIRTEEN years. Most I will never see again, and the few I do see will be seldom.
Reminiscing about past high school memories with Biomed whom I have grown up with over the last four years had us crying so hard on Monday.
Now “adult” life starts. We are all starting our separate journeys and pursuing all of our dreams that we have been waiting to chase for these last four years.
Our only FULL “normal” year of high school was freshman year. And it was the absolute best, I loved every day. Covid took the rest and we began to get back to normal toward the end of our Senior year. So many memories were made with these people. Most of whom I will only talk to 20 years down the road.
The hardest part to come to terms with is you will never see that kid with glasses that you pass every day on your way to 4th period. Or you will never talk to the people you didn’t take a chance to get to know. Or maybe you didn’t laugh enough. Smile enough. Make enough memories with your best friends. My time is over, but to the class of 2023, 2024, and so on. Cherish it. Cherish it all. Make the most of every moment. You’ll regret it if you don’t. They warn you it passes so fast and you never believe them. It passes so fast. Enjoy every second of every day. Those days will run out whether you fully grasp the concept or not. It will happen whether you’re ready or not.
Thank you to everyone who got me here. To all of my teachers of the last 13 years.. we laughed, we learned, we cried, and we moved along with life.As Ghandi once said, ”You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”
Class of 2022, we did it. And now is our time to be that “change” in the world. I love every single one of you, and I will miss you dearly. Here’s to new beginnings. 🤍🎓
