UPDATE: JOSEPH CURRIE, 28, OF FT. GAY, WVA has died as a result of his injuries in a traffic accident Tuesday evening, a family member said today.
Ky State Police Post 9 Information Officer, Trooper William Petry has so far refused to release any information concerning the accident in which Currie was hit while walking along U.S. 23 near the 201 exit.
The Lazer expects a press release at any time.

Joseph Currie, 28 of Ft. Gay, WVA was filling in for Thompson Sanitation who had a worker out sick today, when he was arrested at Kimber’s Country Store in Blaine, KY. by deputy Chuck Jackson for shoplifting.
Currie bonded out of jail at 5:17 P. M. and began walking north on US 23 towards Louisa. He was struck by a vehicle and his injuries required him to be flown to Pikeville Medical Center where he remains, according to and ICU nurse, in “Very Critical Condition.” (1-23/18)
According to the Pikeville State Police Post #9 the accident is still under investigation and as of now no charges have been filed against the driver.
