Bowen faces challenge and it ‘won’t be taken lightly’
Lawrence County welcomed a new executive director of the Housing authority on Monday, April 25th. Cindy Bowen.
Mrs. Bowen who’s face you might recognize from her previous job of 28 years at People’s Security Bank, brings a new, positive attitude to the office.
The Housing Authority has had serious management problems for several years. Current member Colleen Stone said Monday that the Authority had 15 applications for the $40,000 per year job and they felt like Ms. Bowen was the most qualified for the position.
“I think she will do a great job and that’s why we hired her,” Ms. Stone said.
“I’m eager and excited about this new career change,” Mrs. Bowen said today.
Cindy is the wife of Randy Bowen, a retired State Police Officer who is the head baseball coach at Sheldon Clark High school and they have two sons, Tanner Bowen, 19, a graduate of Lawrence County High School and now attending the prestigious Warton School of Business and Trace Bowen, 17 who is a junior in high school.
Cindy has many goals for the position and her statement to Lawrence County is that she plans to be a positive asset in this office.
“ I am dealing with people’s homes and their lives,” she said. “This isn’t a responsibility that I take lightly.”
