ELEVEN PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED INN LAWRENCE COUNTY IN THE PAST WEEK. ANOTHER FOUR LAWRENCE RESIDENTS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN NEIGHBORING COUNTIES ( ONE BOYD COUNTY, THREE IN MARTIN COUNTY).
THE NAMES AND CRIMINAL CHARGES OF THOSE 11 INDIVIDUALS ARRESTED IN LAWRENCE COUNTY (AND THE 4 OUTSIDE THE COUNTY) ARE THE FOLLOWING:
Kayla J. Horn-Hunt, 29, of Louisa, was arrested on January 3, 2017 at 4:51 P.M., by officer Billy C. Slone of the Kentucky Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole, and was charged with: • PAROLE VIOLATION (FOR TECHNICAL VIOLATION).
Kenis Bishop, 37, of Louisa, was arrested on January 4, 2017, at 12:53 A.M., by deputy Dwayne Bowen of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • SERVING 2 BENCH WARRANTS FOR COURT.
Melissa Frazier, 37, of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested on January 4, 2018, at 11:14 A.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • KNOW FRAUDULENTLY USE ID CARD OR ELECTRONIC CODE FOR BENEFITS.
Janice Daniels, 62, of Paintsville, Kentucky; was arrested on January 5, 2018, at 7:36 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • RECKLESS DRIVING, • NO REGISTRATION PLATES, • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 (AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES) 1ST OFFENSE.
Jessica L. Shook, 35, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested on January 6, 2018, at 10:47 P.M., by trooper Eric C. Homan of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • NON PAYMENT OF FINES, • FAILURE TO APPEAR.
Dustin L. Shook, 36, of Lancaster, Ohio; was arrested on January 6, 2018, at 10:47 P.M., by trooper Daniel G. Vossmer of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • NON PAYMENT OF FINES ( 3 SEPARATE CHARGE COUNTS ).
William W. Chafin, 39, of Louisa, was arrested on January 8, 2018, at 4:26 P.M., by sergeant deputy Chuck Jackson of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • FALSELY REPORTING AN INCIDENT.
Nicholas C, Ballou, 30, of Lagrange, Kentucky; was taken into custody and booked on January 9, 2018, at 2:00 P.M., by the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, to served a guiltily plea sentence: • CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.
Rebecca Clark, 39, of Louisa, was arrested on January 9, 2017, at 10:41 P.M., by trooper Craig Morella of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • FAILURE TO APPEAR.
Melvin G. Harmon Jr., 27, of Webbville, Kentucky; was arrested on January 10, 2018, at 1:09 A.M., by officer Paul Wells of the Lawrence County Constable-District 1 Office, and was charged with: • NO BRAKE LIGHTS (PASSENGER VEHICLES), • DRIVING DUI SUSPENDED LICENSE – 2ND OFFENSE, • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
John Judd, 41, of Fort Gay, West Virginia, was arrested on January 10, 2018, at 1:21 A.M., by deputy Mack Wilhite of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS, • ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF LEGEND DRUG.

Two Lawrence men, who are brothers, were jailed after a law enforcement officer who was on his way to begin his patrol found them “schnokered” and in an unresponsive physical state in a automobile in the northern part of Martin County.
According to the arrest report press release from the Martin County Sheriff’s Department, two men from Lawrence County were arrested Monday night January 8, after a Martin County Deputy found the men passed out in a vehicle alongside Route 3.
The report indicated that as Deputy Aaron Blevins was on his way to begin his shift (just before 8 P.M.), deputy Blevins noticed a vehicle sitting partially on the shoulder and partially blocking one lane of traffic on Route 3.
The driver, 58 year old David M. Delong of Louisa, blew a .274 on the intoxilyzer, which is well over three and a half times the legal limit of .08, and was charged with • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/ DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE, along with additional traffic violations citation charges of: • NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT, • FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS, • FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD, • NO OPERATORS-MOPED LICENSE..
The passenger, his brother, 51 year old Kenneth D. Delong, also of Louisa, was charged with:• ALCOHOL INTOXICATION IN A PUBLIC PLACE (1ST & 2ND OFFENSE).
Both men were arrested and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, were they since have been released after they posted their bail bonds.

Lewis H. Pinder, 34, of Louisa, was taken into custody and booked in Boyd County on January 3, 2017, at 11:40 A.M., by a deputy Joel Workman of the Boyd County Sheriff Department.
He was transferred from Boyd to Johnson on 3rd after being arrested/booked in Boyd on 29th where he stayed in custody awaiting transfer on 3rd to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, to serve a guiltily plea sentence on two separate charges: • TWO CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/ SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDERS.
Brandon Gamble, 32, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested in Martin County on January 5, 2018, at 1:12 A.M., by trooper Ryan Hale of the Kentucky State Police-Post #9-Pikeville, and was charged with: • FAILURE TO APPEAR ( 3 SEPARATE COUNT CHARGES ).
